Today I meet with Karen Young and Captain Nancy Azuaje. Karen is a Multicultural Ministries Specialist in the Multicultural Ministries Department for the Central Territory. Karen has a rich history of cultural immersion and is a valuable resource for cross cultural effectiveness. Captain Nancy Azuaje is the Multicultural Women's Ministries Coordinator for the Central Territory. Nancy has co-pastored Spanish speaking churches in the Chicagoland area for over 10 years and recently joined the Women's Ministries Department coming from the Multicultural Department.
Today's conversation is about creating a multi-ethnic church, cultivating cultural sensitivity and creating space to celebrate differences without further segregating congregations. We didn't come up with all the answers but we're joining the greater conversation about creating a true vision of the Kingdom of God! Today’s guest is Major Danielle Strickland. Danielle is a Canadian officer in the Salvation Army church. Currently she’s serving as the Salvation Army territorial social justice secretary of the western territory of the United States based in the Los Angeles area. Danielle and her husband have also served in Australia. Danielle and I discuss her the Salvation Army International celebration Boundless, her journey into social justice, liberating and empowering women, women’s ministries, healthy rhythms, living full and rich lives, letting go of perfect and recognizing the weakness and sin in our lives.
God is speaking powerful messages through Danielle and I am grateful for the time I got to sit with her and learn from her experiences.
